{"key":"6116","name":"The Prodigy","bio":"The Prodigy are a Braintree, Essex, UK, electronic music group (aka Prodigy), formed by Liam Howlett (composition, keyboards), in 1990. They have sold over 20 million records worldwide, which is almost unequalled in dance music history.Their music consists of various styles ranging from rave and breakbeat hardcore in the early 90s to alternative rock and big beat, with punk vocal elements in later times. Other current band members include: Keith Flint (dancing, vocals), Maxim (MCing, vocals) and live guitarist Rob Holliday (Marilyn Manson, Gary Numan, Curve, Sulpher).Leeroy Thornhill (dancing, occasional live keyboards), was a member of the band from 1990 to 2000, as well was a female dancer \/ vocalist Sharky, who left the band during their early period. Other notable former live members include: Gizz Butt (guitar - English Dogs, Janus Stark, Sabbat) - toured with the band for three years throughout the late '90s, Kieron Pepper (drum - Realtv, Happy Gilmore) - played for the group from 1997 to 2007 (also contributing to the solo projects of Maxim and Flint's band, Flint), as well as Jim Davies (guitar - Pitchshifter), who also performed in Flint.The Prodigy first emerged on the underground rave scene in the early 1990, releasing their d\u00e9but LP Experience (1992) and have since then achieved immense popularity and worldwide renown. Some of their most popular songs include \"Charly\", \"Out of Space\", \"No Good (Start the Dance)\", \"Voodoo People\", \"Firestarter\", \"Breathe\" and \"Smack My Bitch Up\".The name displayed on album covers changed from 'The Prodigy' to 'Prodigy' between Music for the Jilted Generation and The Fat of the Land (1997) and back again with the release of Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (2004). However, Howlett has attested the title has always been 'The Prodigy' and the change was made only to fit within the displayed logo.Maxim originally began as an MC for the band before doing vocals on \"Poison\", a track on their second album Music for the Jilted Generation and then several others on The Fat of the Land. He remains a member, MCing at the live shows.Flint began as a dancer for the band before moving on to become a vocalist initially on the track \"Firestarter\" but then for several others on the third album The Fat of the Land. Flint is probably the most visually recognisable member of the band and considered by many to be the front-man though he has very little input to writing the songs. He still sings with the live show but has virtually no input on the albums however, he did write the single \"Baby's Got a Temper\".Following the relative commercial and critical failure of 2004's Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned the band released a greatest hits Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005 before 2009's return to form Invaders Must Die.After the release and success of The Fat of the Land, Howlett was feeling down as he could not produce any songs up to standard up until one of his friends showed him the program Reason from Propellerhead Software. This program inspired him who instantly went to the studio and started producing tracks using it; he decided he did not want to use it for baselines though, as he prefers the analogue sound.","featuredImage":"https:\/\/assets.allamericanmusic.com\/images\/6116_h_0.jpg","feeRange":"please contact"}

In 1996 Satomi met the famous international team Prezioso. This changed the way he perceived his music, and he started to alternate the gigs with hour after hour passed in a studio, learning the \"precious\" art of producing. Thanks to the support and help of Marvin & Andrea Prezioso, in 1997 he released his first record titled \"Simon Templar - Electricity\". From that moment on his life would never be the same. He went on with his DJ career until in 2000 his dream to be a producer became a reality. He released his second record, and he created his first home studio.After 4 years of University, he finally decided to change his life with a meeting with Joe Borgoni and Valentina Dante, with which he created his new professional studio and the Supasonic Team. He collaborated with Dancework Label and the important producer Luca Piazzon, best known as B-1, and with BMG, making some remixes for international artist as Marcela Morelo.In 2003 he led to one of the most important Italian labels, Ipnotika Records. In 2004, he released his first single \"Castles In The Sky\", with a very good check in Italy and in Europe, with a number one in Spain and presences in many compilations. Considered as one of the most important and experimental DJ producers he launched the project Supasonic with the smashing remix for \"Lullabow\".Today he is at his third single, and many surprises will be on the horizon\u2026","featuredImage":"https:\/\/assets.allamericanmusic.com\/images\/88048_h_0.jpg","feeRange":"please contact"}

DJ Quicksilver took his first steps towards DJing 20 years ago. Success first came with the production of \"Bingo Bongo\". Orhan Terzi and his producer Tommaso De Donatis immediately had a huge club hit that remained in the German sales charts at a high position for weeks. Quicksilver's next hits came with the single \"Boing\", and the Quicksilver remix of Insomnia. The remix was even more successful than the original version. Quicksilver has a long line of great singles that followed afterwards. These include \"Bellisima\", \"Free\", \"Planet Love\", \"Cosmophobia\", \"Ameno\", and \"New Life\". {"key":"8387","name":"The Crystal Method","bio":"The Crystal Method is a Big beat\/Breaks duo comprising Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland. Formed in 1993, The Crystal Method is the most recent stop in a string of projects that led them from their native Las Vegas (and some forgettable four-track stabs at Vocal jazz music), to the early-'90s L.A. rave scene. Drawn in by its youthful idealism, Jordan and Kirkland became absorbed by L.A.'s underground club culture and began knocking out tracks inspired by their experiences. On the strength of one of their demos, The Crystal Method signed to Steve Melrose and Justin King's City of Angels imprint in 1994, and their debut single, Keep Hope Alive, appeared soon after. The title was in reference to L.A.'s waning rave scene (burdened by constant police pressure and a string of random violent incidents) and became something of an anthem due to the endless barrage of remixes and alternate versions that appeared. The pair's demand to be taken seriously as a band (as opposed to the enforced anonymity of most techno acts, and something of a new concept for American dance producers) extended to incessant live performances, and The Crystal Method's increasing popularity both in the clubs and among radio jocks led to a deal with Geffen affiliate Outpost Recordings in 1996. The group's debut LP, Vegas \u2013 an unabashed party record bathed in acid, funk, rock, and big beat hip-hop \u2013 appeared in mid-1997 and sold very well. The follow-up Tweekend was released four years later, and the duo inaugurated a series of mix albums (Community Service) in 2002. Third album Legion of Boom followed in 2004. The strength of their debut single Keep Hope Alive - now one of the most-remixed dance tracks - saw them signed to Outpost Recordings. Their debut album Vegas was released in 1997 and achieved significant mainstream success with its blend of electronic, rock and hip-hop influences. A re-working of Trip Like I Do featuring rock band Filter appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Spawn and achieved significant radio airplay.Their second album, Tweekend, was released in 2001, and featured guest appearances from guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave) and singer Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver). This was followed in 2002 by a mix CD entitled Community Service. Their third studio album, Legion of Boom, followed in 2004, and Community Service II was released in 2005. The Crystal Method also wrote the score and produced the soundtrack for the film London (2006). And work has begun on a second movie score, After is its current title.They had 4 songs on the FIFA '98: Road To World Cup Video Game: More, Now Is The Time, Keep Hope Alive and Busy Child. In 2002 The Crystal Method's single Name of the Game was the theme song and featured in the credits of the hit video game Splinter Cell. Also, the track Born Too Slow appeared in the demo and full version of the game Need for Speed: Underground. The PSX game Nitrous Oxide (N2O) features the Vegas album in its entirety as the soundtrack.In 2008 they teamed up with Nike to release a compilation album, Drive, featuring a 45 minute seamless mix of some of their most famous songs and remixes. This set, with its constant BPM, was aimed at long distance runners. Drive also features some new tracks.The Crystal Method also wrote the theme tune to the Fox tv series Bones staring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel and it's become a big dance floor hit in the UK.Their official homepage is http:\/\/www.thecrystalmethod.com\/ and they're blogging at http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thecrystalmethod too.Here on last.fm, the artist TCM is an alias for The Crystal Method. However, there are also tracks as TCM which are not by The Crystal Method, but by the project TCM which stands for Thimbles, Cowboy & Mr. Ladies. This was a project that created intro's, outro's and interludes for the Dutch Turn Up The Bass House Party compilation CD series. When it came time to begin working on an album, Moderat suddenly broke up.Meanwhile Modeselektor set a milestone in German music history with their sophomore album, Happy Birthday!, including musicians such as Puppetmastaz, Maximo Park and Thom Yorke. Amongst a slew of remixes for the likes of Thom Yorke and Bj\u00f6rk, Modeselektor also went on to tour with Radiohead across Japan in 2008.Apparat, on the other hand, moved forward with his album Walls in 2007 (after his collaboration with Ellen Allien on \"Orchestra of Bubbles\"), taking a musical path that was more band-oriented and kept him on tour for several years running.2008 saw the reunion of this project and the three members of Moderat went back to the studio to continue working together and finally released their 1st full album \"Moderat\" in April 2009. This is a monumental 'audio-visual declaration' album, which includes ten videos by Berlin's highly regarded visualists Pfadfinderei.http:\/\/moderat.fm","featuredImage":"https:\/\/assets.allamericanmusic.com\/images\/10102_h_0.jpg","feeRange":"15,000 - 40,000"}
