98351
Tantrum Desire
A south east London based duo, who met in 2004 at a small pirate radio station through the love of drum & bass music. Before that time these individuals had portfolios in their chosen fields, which were producing and DJ’ing. These talented artists then began working together towards their common goal, which was to break into the drum & bass scene.Experimenting and striving for constant perfection: Jay (Producer / DJ) and Devon (DJ) under the name Tantrum Desire , have continued their promotion campaign and expedition, appearing on internet radio shows such as, Kunninmindz, Planet dnb, UK Rumble and Kool FM.In 2005, a bunch of Tantrum Desire tracks on a load of CD’s was passed out in Spain at a big drum & bass event. This then attracted Nu-Breed’s - MC Shortston, who received a copy of the track collection and saw a spark in the production. This gave him some ideas and business plans to start up a new label called ‘Heavyweight Records’. This was the new home label for the boys, which released tracks such as, The Red Pill, Dreamscape EP, The Inner moon and White light, which had constant air play on radio stations such as 1xtra, Radio 1 and Kiss. Tantrum Desire also had bootleg projects lying around in the lab, which gave Shortston another idea to accompany Heavyweight with a bootleg label named “Booty”. This brought you releases such as, “Transformers”, “Jealousy”, “drop it like its hot” and “Can’t stop”.In early 2008, Tantrum Desire was approached by one of the biggest pioneers in the game – Simon ‘Bassline’ Smith, who saw the variety of styles in the drum & bass productions and therefore became interested. This led him to making the guys an offer and signing them exclusively to his well established label - Technique Recordings. Straight away, Technique released Tantrum Desire’s debut 12” - “Xenomorph & the Last stand, which set their trademark in the scene for the sound of big baseline synths and orchestral intro’s. Soon after, the boys featured in the award winning Knowledge Magazine, which gave an insight of the T.D team and a warning to the public that the guys would be bringing dance floor smashers on a constant level. Early 2009 brought to your ears the sound of “Crazy Talk & Strength” on Techniques sister label’ World Wide Audio Recordings. This synth’tastic release received great feedback and support from pioneers such as Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, Zane Lowe, Hype, Ray Keith and many more.Read more: http://www.myspace.com/tantrumdesire#ixzz15NwyHSJG
https://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/98351_h_0.jpg
please contact"}

Noted for his falsetto and eccentric music style, The Weeknd is recognized for heavily influencing contemporary R&B and multiple artists. He began his recording career in 2010, anonymously uploading several songs to YouTube. A year later, the Weeknd released the mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence, and quickly earned a following and critical recognition from several mainstream publications due to his dark style of R&B and the mystique surrounding his identity. In 2012, the Weeknd signed with Republic Records and re-released the mixtapes as part of the compilation album Trilogy (2012). His debut studio album, Kiss Land, was released in 2013. He followed the album with Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), which was among the best-selling albums of 2015. Containing the Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills," Beauty Behind the Madness won Best Urban Contemporary Album and was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammy Awards. The Weeknd's third album Starboy (2016) was a similar commercial success and included the #1 single of the same name, while it also won Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards. His fourth album, After Hours (2020), featured the #1 singles "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights." The Weeknd has won three Grammy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award. He holds several chart records, including having been the first artist to simultaneously hold the top three positions on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart with "Can't Feel My Face," "Earned It," and "The Hills." The Weeknd was awarded the Allan Slaight Award by Canada's Walk of Fame.
8389
Infected Mushroom
Infected Mushroom is an electronic music group. Originally formed as a duo by Erez Aizen (also known as I.Zen) and Amit Duvdevani (also known as Duvdev), in Haifa, Israel. Both currently reside in Los Angeles.Infected Mushroom is known for their consistent sonic evolution exemplified by the following albums: "The Gathering" (1999), "Classical Mushroom" (2000), "B.P. Empire" (2001), "Converting Vegetarians" (2003), "IM the Supervisor" (2004), "Vicious Delicious" (2007), "Legend of the Black Shawarma" (2009), "Army of Mushrooms" (2012)' and "Converting Vegetarians II" (2015)'Their live shows feature guitars, live drums and vocals, with a multimedia backdrop.In 1998, Aizen and Duvdevani began playing together. At first they released a few tracks as "Shidapu & Duvdev". These tracks were 'happier' and on the simpler side of trance. Later on, they formed the duo "Infected Mushroom" and started working on their first album. The name "Infected Mushroom" was taken, without permission, from a disbanded (1989 to 1993) punk rock band of that name also of Israeli origin, which Duvdevani knew and saw perform at a concert in Israel.1999's "The Gathering" was the breakthrough debut album for "Infected Mushroom". The album featured a dark, rhythmic atmosphere exemplified in the song "Psycho", which gathered much acclaim and popularity. This album was one of the first albums to bring Israeli psy-trance to more 'mainstream' audiences, and contributed to the gradually growing popularity of the genre world-wide. The following year, the duo released one of their most well known albums, also being one of the most well known albums in the genre today, "Classical Mushroom". The album showcased a track often cited as their most popular track, "Bust A Move". This album is commonly referred to as the best example of the group's efforts."Infected Mushroom's" evolving style has also had its share of critics. 2001's "B.P. Empire" was well-received by many fans and critics alike. Especially renowned is the musical epic "Dancing With Kadafi"; segueing numerous styles of music, most notably through the use of strong middle-eastern style melodies and a classical piece halfway through (which showcased Erez and Amit's piano and violin skills). However, the album was not as popular with mainstream audiences when compared with earlier releases, primarily due to the less accessible melodies in most of the tracks. The album was also seen as a break away from the more traditional styles of psy-trance by many psy-trance purists, who felt that the new territories explored went beyond the bounds of psy-trance but not necessarily in a progressive sense.The group's most controversial album proved to be "Converting Vegetarians" (2003) which featured 2 discs (also known as 'sides'). The first of the 2 CDs is the inoffensive Trance side, which contains mostly trance-like dancefloor material. The Trance Side is a logical progression of their earlier work (although it is cited by some as less imaginative than their earlier work). The 2nd CD is entitled The Other Side, and it contains mostly genre-bending experimental music - ranging from the R&B inspired title track "Converting Vegetarians" (which was the first true display of Duvdev's characteristic voice) to the more down-tempo laid-back "Elation Station", and also from the electro-pop tracks "Blink" and "Illuminaughty" (with vocals by the well-known UK psytrance vocalist Michele Adamson) to the short and experimental "Shakawkaw" (later expanded to a full length track). The album also contained the track "Ballerium", which was originally recorded as a soundtrack to an up-and-coming internet game and later scrapped by the game designers. The remainder of the CD went on to reveal other musical stylings, including "I Wish", lead by a carefully vocoded vocal line.The release of "IM The Supervisor" in 2004 (often incorrectly referred to as "I'm the Supervisor"), further surprised listeners with yet another mix of psy-trance with other musical genres. The album was criticized as being too "commercial" by many fans, but became "Infected Mushroom's" best selling album up to that time.Guitarists Tommy Cunningham and Erez Netz joined in 2004 - Tom plays with "Infected Mushroom" in the United States, while Erez Netz plays the rest of their gigs. Netz is a famous guitarist from Israel, and he opens their live shows with some electric guitar exhibition - playing with his mouth. In December of that year, "Infected Mushroom" moved from their base in Haifa to a new studio in Los Angeles, California.As of 2007, "Infected Mushroom" have also brought in Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Jardim to play drums and percussion during their shows. Also that year, Infected Mushroom rose to #9 in the influential DJmag Top 100 DJs poll, where they were the highest placed psytrance DJs. This was the first time the category had been created, reflecting psytrance's rising popularity around the world and the pioneering role Infected Mushroom have played in this.2007 was also the year of "Vicious Delicious", possibly the most diverse album up to that point. The album begins with "Becomig Insane", an intense Spanish-guitar-led number, followed by "Artillery", a hip-hop track with vocal contributions by a guest artist. This divergence in genre in just the first two tracks of the album is a clear ultimatum for the critics to 'get with the programme'. Other tracks on the album also feature guest vocalists, along with the guitars and percussion of the newly-inducted Infected Mushrooms.The much-anticipated 2009 album bore the title "Legend of the Black Shawarma" and featured remixes of "The Doors" classic "Riders On The Storm" and the evergreen Mushrooms number "Bust a Move", which is noticeably enriched by the DJs' well-matured skills. According to Duvdev, the title of the album is taken from a joke shared with an Australian friend who was describing his interest in having an up-close-and-personal experience in a shark cage. Duvdev's reported response was that the friend would look to the shark like a 'black shawarma', an enticing Middle-Eastern delicacy.Infected Mushroom are currently using Cubase 6 on custom built PC'sDiscographyAlbumsThe Gathering (1999) Classical Mushroom (2000) B.P.Empire (2001) Converting Vegetarians (2003) IM the Supervisor (2004) Vicious Delicious (2007) Legend of the Black Shawarma (2009) Army of Mushrooms (2012) Friends on Mushrooms (2015) Converting Vegetarians II (2015) Singles/EPsIntelligate / Small Moves (1999) Bust a Move (2001) Classical Mushroom EP (2001) B.P. His IDM and hip-hop influenced beat collages unfold like individual short stories, their layered tones playing into your emotions. The thud of bass pulses throughout his tracks, a steady stream of heartbeats that rise in and fall reaction to the excitement, the trepidation and the moments of calm reflection set by the marriage of vocal samples and experimental beatmaking. Listened to in succession, Howard’s material is a collection of individual moods, bound into a volume that could easily be titled, What It Feels Like To Be A Human.*In a world in which upstart DiY talent is flooding the gates of electronic music, a few recent voices have been so strong as to be startling. Lapalux - AKA 25-year-old Stuart Howard - is certainly one such. As singular as a brilliant artist always should be, his instinctive understanding of the atmospheric power of texture grips the ear immediately on listening. 'Nostalchic' is his debut album, mission statement, and the climax of many years of studying his craft. The amalgam of words that make the title is aptly, and perhaps knowingly chosen. The album evokes nostalgia without ever sounding nostalgic, and Howard may have had his tongue in his chic when he added the second half of the title. The album is his most focused document to date, adding his beloved R&B and soul into elements of house and hip hop, all with the trademark Lapalux finish; infectious, lopsided swing and achingly deep texture.*12/19/2013 update
https://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/98386_h_0.jpg
please contact"}

The project began at the request of York Arts Council, when they asked founding members Tommy Evans (Gentleman's Dub Club) and Dom "Ruckspin" Howard (Author) to compose a classical/dub crossover piece to be performed at York Minster in 2009. After the success of that particular show, Evans and Howard returned to their hometown of Leeds, U.K., with a new musical vision and enough contacts to assemble the right musicians for the job. Submotion Orchestra were revered for their energetic live shows, first on a local level at their weekly residency at Leeds bar Hukaz.
