Sarah Grace McLaughlin, known by her stage name Bishop Briggs, was born in London to Scottish parents. When she was four years old, the family moved to Tokyo. She first knew she wanted to be a performer after performing at a karaoke bar in Tokyo.
At age 10, Briggs moved to Hong Kong, where she lived until age 18. She attended college in Los Angeles at the Musician's Institute. After releasing three singles, "Wild Horses," "River" and "The Way I Do," Briggs released her debut album, Church of Scars, in April 2018.
Briggs has been writing music since age seven, and often uses her skills on the piano while writing.
