About
The Backstreet Boys is an internationally recognized and award-winning vocal boy band that redefined the modern musical landscape. Known for singles like "I Want It That Way," "As Long as You Love Me" and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," the group ushered in a chapter of pop culture that commandeered the world’s radio airwaves, broke music and concert sales records and launched a new generation of teen idols for millions of youth.
Comprised of members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, the group rose to fame with their 1996 debut international album, Backstreet Boys. The following year, they released their second international album Backstreet's Back, continuing the group's worldwide success.
They rose to superstardom with their third studio album Millennium (1999) and its follow-up album, Black & Blue (2000). After almost ten years together, the band went on a brief hiatus following legal battles with their management company.
In 2006, it was announced that Richardson had left the Backstreet Boys to pursue other interests. Following Richardson's departure announcement, the Backstreet Boys expressed no interest in replacing him and entered the studio to record their next two albums, Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).
The Backstreet Boys announced that Richardson had rejoined them permanently during a show in London in April 2012, and they released their eighth studio album, In A World Like This, shortly thereafter in 2013.
In 2016, the group signed a deal with Live Nation for a concert residency in Las Vegas, which ran from 2017 to 2019. They later released "God, Your Mama, and Me", with country duo Florida Georgia Line.
The song entered the Hot 100 at No. 92 for the chart in March of 2017, which was the group's first appearance on the chart since 2007. The group announced their ninth studio album DNA, in January of 2019, featuring singles "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Chances".
The Backstreet Boys embarked on the DNA World Tour in support of the album in May 2019.
