Amythyst Kiah is an American folk singer-songwriter. Her music is informed by her scholarship of African-American roots music at East Tennessee State University. Her evocative vocals are interchangeably accompanied with banjo, acoustic guitar or a full band.
Kiah's burgeoning career has already seen her collaborate with the likes of Rhiannon Gidden, and one can only guess what is in store for this trailblazing artist. In 2019, Kiah's song for Our Native Daughters, a group of four black women that she is a part of, "Black Myself," was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best American Roots Song.
