Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, better known by his stage name 21 Savage, is a rapper and activist. Born in London, England, and based out of Atlanta, Georgia, 21 Savage grew up around criminality and eventually dropped out of school.

After dropping out, he became involved in a street gang and with dealing drugs. He began rapping in 2013 after the death of a close friend in a shootout and quickly caught attention in the Atlanta underground for his 2015 mixtape The Slaughter Tape before getting nationwide attention after the Metro Boomin-produced Savage Mode and his collaboration with Drake, "Sneakin," was released.

21 Savage released his debut studio album, Issa Album, in 2017 which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and gave 21 Savage his first top twenty song: "Bank Account." He achieved his first #1 single at the end of 2017 with his feature on Post Malone's "Rockstar".

His second studio album, I Am > I Was, was released on December 21, 2018, and featured Travis Scott, Childish Gambino, Post Malone, Offset, and J. Cole, among others. I Am > I Was was 21 Savage's debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking his first #1 album.

21 Savage is also an activist and philanthropist who is passionate about teaching kids money skills and improving his hometown of Atlanta. In March 2018, 21 Savage announced the creation of the 21 Savage Bank Account Campaign (named after his hit song "Bank Account") on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, also announcing that he would be donating $21,000 to the cause.

21 Savage said, "I started the 21 Savage Bank Account Campaign and its to help kids learn how to save money and make money, and open bank accounts for kids." In early August 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, 21 Savage hosted the "Issa Back to School Drive" (named after his album Issa Album) in his home neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia.

The drive gave free haircuts, hairstyles, supplies, and school uniforms. In July 2018, 21 Savage donated $10,000 to Atlanta's Continental Colony Elementary School to fund an anti-bullying campaign. In 2019, his song "Rockstar," featuring Post Malone, was nominated for two Grammy Awards -- Record of the Year and Best Rap/Sung Performance.
