Eldrine is a Georgian rock band that represented Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with their entry, "One More Day". The band consists of Tamar Vadachkoria (lead vocals), Mikheil Chelidze (guitarist), Irakli Bibilashvili (bass guitar), David Changoshvili (drummer), Tamar Shekiladze (keyboard) and Beso Tsikhelashvili (DJ).
The band “Eldrine” was started by two bosom friends Miken and Chango . After meeting the other members of the band,Tamuna and Gia, they started working on the album still searching for the vocalist.
A lot of people who attended the castings did have good vocal abilities. But the guys were seeking for someone special. On finishing the album they remembered about Eldrine, an old friend of theirs who was addicted to music.
Having listened to her singing they were amazed - it was just the thing they had been looking for. The band got sort of obsessed by her. They worked with passion on the album and it seemed to be excellent.
The guys were on the right way to success. But in the end Eldrine decided to reject their proposal, due to some negative show business memories. Her refusal was caused also by the fact that at that moment she was keeping a position in a prestigious company.
Still the guys didn’t give up, they kept on holding castings. But the hope to find an equal vocalist was slowly fading away. Suddenly the unexpected happened. In a tragic accident Eldrine lost her memory.
The doctors diagnosed her with amnesia and supposed it could have been a result of a strong emotional stress.The guys decided to create a new past for her. After she got home from hospital, they would visit her almost every day.
They would let her listen to their compositions and write new vocal parts thus trying to make her believe she was part of the band. Time flew. Eldrine was allowed to go out. She regularly attended rehearsals and became addicted to the band.
But her past was still haunting her - mysterious past which visited her every night in her dreams, reality and imagination all mixed up… Actually she felt she was losing her mind. Having realized what was happening to their friend the band decided to rewrite the songs to match her feelings.
They thought she would sound much more emotional if she sang about her own experiences. The result was incredible. She transferred all her emotions directly to the listeners. She actually welcomed everyone to the realm of her past full of suspense and mystery.
But as the doctor had predicted her memory was restored one day, and she remembered everything. On discovering that she had been deceived, Eldrine's first impulse was to leave the band. Yet she hesitated and plunged into depression which was close to despair.
Crying all the time she was at a loss and upset. But through the seeming darkness slowly crept an overwhelming hope that she had found something real. Because during the time spent with the band they discovered a new world for her - the world she had always been dreaming of: the stage, crowds of fans, and countless tours.
And the reason why she lost her memory has still been unknown. She keeps it in a secret. But every time she sings she returns to that obscure world of her mysterious past.+ Info
